![]() We had no choice but to stay there as everything else nearby was booked solid. ![]() We came from out of state to spend time at the shore and with family. ![]() If you were blocked, you had to go to the office and tell them to have cars moved. The pool seemed clean when we arrived but was green the next day. The pool area was full of trash and broken chairs and loungers and cigarette butts. We felt the hot air coming in so not very efficient. The a/c unit worked but there was a huge gap around it in the wall. The microwave was filthy looking like something had exploded in it. The refrigerator had food in it from prior people and wasn’t very cold. There were no towels, soap or extra toilet paper. The bathroom hadn’t been cleaned at all prior to our arrival. It hadn’t been vacuumed or shampooed it looked like ever. He did not want to be bothered and it was obvious. He sighed and made excuses when I asked for towels. Angel - Art’s helper or assistant was ignorant and rude. it is extremely old and in need of repair. The motel has not been remodeled as we saw advertised. Cons - The pictures online are not accurate. No bugs or smell - Art - the manager was very nice and eager to help you. Anyone staying over Christmas should take note there's very few eating places open, apart from Perkins., though over New Year there were more places to choose from.Flamingo Inn Pros - Location - 2 blocks from the boardwalk. I prefer this end of Fort Myers beach as it's way too busy at the Times Sq end with awful traffic especially during holidays, you can nip to Bonita Springs and Naples from here no bother traffic not so much a problem in this location. Most rooms seem to have an outside seating area and there's plenty of parking, so never had a problem with that, our room was at the back and we parked there, it's quiet at night very little road noise, the linen delivery at 6 am is noisy as is the bin collection around that time on other days, there's a breakfast place across the street though we never used it, a 7 eleven just across street too there was also a small mall a 10 min walk away that had a fresh fruit and veg stand every day and a local market a few times a week. The bed is firm and uncomfortable, really needs a topper, they changed towels daily and emptied bins but that was it, the room was supposed to be cleaned once a week, hope the owners take note the contract cleaners they use didn't clean at all in the 9 nts we were there, lucky I'm a clean tidy person! but it would be nice to at least have a brush and shovel to use. There's a washer and dryer though the dryer was out of order, $1.50 each per use and you can buy detergent at reception for $1. We arrived Christmas eve for a 9 nt stay, Reception were helpful throughout our stay and helped whenever we asked for something, the room when we opened the door smelt musty as if it hadn't been used for a while, but after leaving the door open and getting some air it was okay, it was a small room (Queen efficency) but was uptodate and had everything you would need, 2 ring hob, toaster, microwave and fridge with ice box, dishes, pots and pans, wash up liquid and tea towels were also provided, though I didn't use them, there's a hairdryer in shower room, all you'll need is a travel iron., they even supply beach chairs and umbrella's to use throughout your stay and I believe have some beach toys for kids, the beach here has a part that pools for a while making a great wee bit for kids to play in, my husband also found some great shells on his morning 5 ml walk on the beach toward Lovers Key bridge and back. Again I want to thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us Bettina K. I can personally assure you that all of our mattresses are up to date and hotel standard mattresses. Beds and mattresses as you may know are a personal preference type of thing and it is unfortunately very hard to please everybody. They get cleaned and inspected on a daily basis. Also I can assure you that none of our rooms have mold. I am very sorry that you stayed with us during that one colder week in Florida and therefor you felt you are missing furniture in the rooms. We are close to the beach, provide beach chairs, umbrellas and towels. Our rooms are mostly studios they do not have recliners or other living room furniture, since it is not what most guests book our hotel for. With square footage, the furniture and appliances that they are equipped with and pictures to show you exactly what you are going to get when you book a room at our hotel. They are advertised just the way they are. I can confirm that rooms in our beach hotel are small. Dear Guest, thank you for your feedback on your recent stay.
